Step 1: Equip Classrooms with Take-Home Read-Aloud Kits

We partner with Title I elementary schools to provide circulating school-to-home libraries of carefully selected books for students in grades K–2. Each read-aloud kit is designed to make reading at home simple, engaging, and consistent.

Teachers assign one book to each student every school day. Students take the book home where a parent, grandparent, sibling, or other caring adult reads it aloud to them before it is returned to school the next day.

This daily routine helps children hear thousands of new words, strengthens family connections, and builds the foundation for lifelong reading success—building futures one story at a time.

Our Board of Literacy Specialists carefully selects books that are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and recognized for their literary quality. We prioritize stories that build vocabulary, foster a love of reading, and expose children to rich language while respecting the primary role of parents in guiding conversations about personal beliefs and values.
