A Note From Our Founder:

“This nonprofit began with something I witnessed over and over again as a reading interventionist. I met children who arrived at school already carrying the weight of the million-word gap. Even after they learned to read, many continued struggling because they had missed years of exposure to rich language and meaningful reading experiences.

I want a simple system that will support both schools and families. I don’t want schools to have to compete for grants or take on extra work to give students what they deserve. I especially think about small rural schools that often don't have grant writers or the visibility to attract major funding. This is a system that every Title I school can use year after year without placing any financial burden on the school or the families they serve.

My goal is to help communities, schools and families build stronger relationships through shared storybook experiences. I want parents and children to enjoy intentional, stress-free, screen-free time together while surrounding children with the language that fuels literacy, learning, and lifelong success. If we can strengthen both literacy and family connections, we can change the trajectory of a child's future.”
